Mercure York Fairfield Manor Hotel

Good selection however, the cooked breakfast wasn’t hot. It was barely warm on our first morning so we didn’t have it for the remainder of our stay. We had cereal and toast instead. To pay £12 each for a bit of cereal and a round of toast was definitely not value for money. There was no-one manning the food area and we had to ask for a plate as there were none. The shower wouldn’t turn off so a member of staff had to come and try to turn it off on the first morning. There was an alarm that went off at midnight which woke us up and there were guests coming out of their rooms. Took ages to settle again. No-one manning the bar so had to get someone to muster them from somewhere. Room was nicely decorated with anniversary balloons and nice things which we appreciated.

Staff go above and beyond Check in nice and easy was given a family room which was more than adequate nice big spacious room . We had trouble with our door. Well the lock decided to break so we couldn’t open the door from inside or outside . Phoned reception was there In seconds to help out in the end they had to break the door down . Was then upgraded to the suite which was amazing . Honestly the staff here was wonderful went above and beyond from the minute we checked in . The only down side was the breakfast you have everything u need but it just wasn’t for us . We would stay here again

This hotel is in the perfect location. 10 min drive into the centre of York and 5 mins away from a park and ride. We got to our room and unfortunately the heating did not work so we went to the reception desk to tell them of the issue and they were very understanding. They went to check the issue whilst we went out for dinner. Unfortunately they could not get the heating to work but they did offer an alternative of a small heater or to switch rooms. We opted to switch rooms and they offered us the superior suite! This room is fantastic and definitely made our weekend! Would recommend the hotel to anyone. Clean, classic look and very friendly helpful staff 5 ⭐

The staff is so welcoming.Very kind and nice.The room was clean and up to the standard.The food is amazing and the fact that you can order from the room makes everything easier.

Breakfast was fine plenty to choose from. The dinner menu was very restricted for myself. Staff were very attentive. It was great having the bus stop across the road..
